A new paper with the title “Orange Economy: definition and measurement – the case of Jordan” authored by Dr. Nooh Alshyab, Director of EMANES in Jordan and EMEA expert and Dr. Serena Sandri, EMANES and EMEA expert, has been published by the International Journal of Cultural Policy.
Cultural and creative industries, also known as the Orange Economy, are considered as an important engine for economic growth and employment. Notwithstanding the increasing attention by policy makers worldwide, statistics relating to their economic contribution are still lacking and/or outdated. This study aims to provide an operational definition of the Orange Economy and suggest a pragmatic approach for estimating its direct economic impact.
Dr. Alshyab and Dr. Sandri are members of the CREACT4MED Technical Expert Group (TEG), a multi-disciplinary group of project partners, renowned regional and local experts, and observers, set up to support the mapping phase of the project. Dr. Alshyab and Dr. Sandri co-authored the TEG report for Jordan.
