  • Cultural and Creative Industries Regional Intervention Roadmap (BUSINESSMED)

The CREACT4MED project is pleased to announce the publication of the “Cultural and Creative Industries Regional Intervention Roadmap”, prepared by BUSINESSMED as part of CREACT4MED’s mainstreaming initiative.

The first of four pillars of the CREACT4MED, Mapping and Research, identified key figures, actors, initiatives, cultural infrastructures, opportunities, and obstacles in each of the target countries. This research aims to uncover and raise awareness of unexploited entrepreneurship and employment opportunities, fostering the development of targeted support initiatives and policy recommendations.

The proposed investment roadmap builds on these findings by offering strategic direction for the cultural and creative industries (CCIs) in the MENA region. It aims to guide stakeholders—policymakers, investors, and practitioners—toward areas where investments can have a high impact on employment creation, economic growth, and social inclusion.

Based on an extensive review of national reports prepared under the CREACT4MED initiative, results of 3 mainstreaming events, interviews with key stakeholders, and findings from regional and international studies, the roadmap proposes investment strategies that focus on the most promising CCI sub-sectors, offering insights into sub-sectors with higher potential, risks and challenges that could hinder investment success, and essential upstream measures necessary to create a supportive environment for CCI investments.

We invite you to explore the roadmap and join us in advancing the role of cultural and creative industries in fostering a more inclusive and prosperous future for the Southern Mediterranean region.

CREACT4MED is a project funded by the EU through the EuropeAid Programme, which aims to strengthen businesses with the Cultural and Creative Industries (CCIs). It seeks to support entrepreneurs, start-ups and SMEs, create jobs, and foster sustainable economic growth in the Southern Mediterranean, with a particular focus on young people and women. It is coordinated by the Euro-Mediterranean Economists Association (EMEA) with project partners the European Institute of the Mediterranean (IEMed), the Institute of Entrepreneurship Development (IED), Redstart Tunisia, and the Union of Mediterranean Confederations of Enterprises (BUSINESSMED).
