The fourth Regional Alumni Network event, titled “Creative Minds, Sustainable Futures. Fostering SDGs through Entrepreneurship in the Cultural and Creative Industries (CCI) in the Mediterranean”, was held in webinar format on July 4th, 2024.
The session was led by Maya Karkour, an environmental and circular economy specialist and founder of EcoConsulting in Lebanon. Featured speakers included Nader Akoum from Studio Madane and Anna Ibañez from MedWaves, who shared exemplary best practices in sustainability within the CCI. The discussion focused on the significance of sustainability in the CCI, exploring how innovative entrepreneurial ventures can drive progress towards achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
The Regional Alumni Network Event series is designed to complement CREACT4MED’s capacity-building activities by equipping entrepreneurs from the Southern Mediterranean with essential knowledge and skills in key CCI topics, promoting their professional growth and enhancing networking opportunities.
The event was organized by the European Institute of the Mediterranean (IEMed) and the Euro-Mediterranean Economists Association (EMEA) in collaboration with EcoConsulting.
