Training is CREACT4MED’s second pillar. Under this pillar, we have carried out several activities: the CREACT4MED Training Academy, the Regional Alumni Network, and the CREACT4MED Summer School. These activities have the aim of capacity building and transferring skills to young and women entrepreneurs in the region working in the cultural and creative industries.
CREACT4MED Training Academy
As part of its activities, CREACT4MED implemented 2 training programme cycles in partnership with the Institute of Entrepreneurship Development (iED) targetting young and women entrepreneurs in the region. The training aimed to tackle the main aspects of running a business touching on business models, legal obstacles, financial considerations, and marketing strategies giving a comprehensive overview of how to run a successful CCI business. The CREACT4MED project has engaged numerous experts in the realisation of its training and capacity building activities. Meet the trainers here.
The Academy offered an online course comprising both synchronous and asynchronous teaching, with a duration of around 6 weeks. The first cycle was held in 2022 and a second cycle in the autumn of 2023. Across both cycles, CREACT4MED engaged with over 600 aspiring entrepreneurs in a series of interactive workshops and webinars. By clicking the button below, you can see the full range of courses that were available to entrepreneurs.
Regional Alumni Network
Participants who successfully completed the training course became part of the Regional Alumni Network which offers opportunities for further exchanges between peers and with regional and international key players and experts (e.g. from Europe, USA, etc.). This is closley linked with the MED CCI Hub which offers networking opportunities, capacity building, enhanced visibility, and access to regional events and financial providers.
CREACT4MED Summer School
The CREACT4MED project organised a summer school together with StartUB, Universitat de Barcelona in September 2023. This week was full of workshops, coaching sessions, visits, and activities for the 24 funded projects to participate in and benefit from.
Over the course of 5 days, the Summer School held 9 workshops with experts in IPR, digital marketing, finance, storytelling, one EU-Southern Neighbourhood Dialogue Session and Workshop, and one Regional Alumni Network Event. Altogether, the Summer School engaged 88 actors across the cultural and creative industries in Barcelona, and held a networking session with over 30 participants. Moreover, 9 collaboration agreements were signed between the CREACT4MED entrepreneurs.
